I work as a bioinformatician at NBIS in the Evolution and Biodiversity team. I mainly work with topics related to evolutionary biology and population genomics in non-model organisms since the research questions that follow truly fascinate me. I did my Master's Thesis on protein structure and machine learning in Madrid, followed by a PhD on the analysis of short sequencing tags at the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. After completing post-docs in Marseille and Stockholm I joined the NBIS organization in 2014. From previous work, I have experience from many areas in bioinformatics, including machine learning, data mining, gene expression analysis, complex disease genetics, and more.
