My research interest is centered in the biodiversity, evolution and functioning of microbial communities using metagenomics. In particular how these communities shape and maintain vital ecosystems both in our own bodies and in the world around us. Since I got into the field of metagenomics back in 2011 I have been fortunate to work with skilled researchers in projects ranging from marine and freshwater habitats to the forest floor, deep sea and the human body.
