Marcin Kierczak

I have received my BSc in molecular biology, MSc in bioinformatics. In 2010, I received PhD in bioinformatics from Uppsala University and since 2019 I am an Associate Professor in bioinformatics at the same university. Joined NBIS in 2016 following two post-doc positions at SLU and Uppsala University. I am mostly focused on applying machine learning/AI methods to genetics and population genetics including metagenomics and aDNA. I am also interested in teaching programming, mainly R.

At NBIS I am supporting long-term projects within genetics/genomics with links to health and clinical applications as well as biodiversity/population genetics and aDNA.

I am also coordinating NBIS outreach to industry and am one of the organizers of RaukR, Advanced R for Bioinformatics Summer School.
