NBIS celebrates 15 years, 2008-2023!

It is 15 years since BILS, the first embryo to what would become NBIS, was initiated. Four years later, 2012, saw the formation of a second Swedish bioinformatics infrastructure, WABI.

For a couple of years, the two infrastructures lived side by side, but in 2016 they merged and became NBIS, the Scilifelab bioinformatics platform. In 2021, the platform was joined by the AIDA Data Hub and BIIF forming the NBIS we have today, a multidisciplinary and important infrastructure for Swedish Life Science.
