population genetics, phylogenetics, comparative genomics, molecular evolution
Verena received her PhD in Biology from Goethe University Frankfurt (Germany). Her dissertation work at the Biodiversity and Climate Research Centre (BiK-F) in Frankfurt focused on the evolutionary history of bears and foxes. She went on to do a postdoc at Uppsala University where she studied genome evolution and selection in crows.
Verena joined the NBIS long-term support team in Stockholm in 2017. Her research interests center around the fields of population genetics and phylogenetics, based on the analysis of high-throughput sequencing data sets.
