genome assembly, genome annotation

I got my MSc and PhD in genetics in Brazil, where I have focused on the characterization of repetitive DNA in insects and mammals using cytogenetics and genomics. After grad school I moved to a postdoc position in the US where I worked on genome assembly of model and non-model organisms using long-reads, linked-reads, and short-reads. I have also worked on the characterisation of structural variation in a highly complex cell line genome. I have joined NBIS in 2023 to work on genome assembly, annotation, and other genomics-related projects.
